Please see our How to Reach page for full details.
For a peaceful darshan without crowds, the best time is early morning on weekdays (5:30–8:00 AM). October to March is the most comfortable season weather-wise. If you wish to experience the Phalguna Mela, plan to visit in February–March. Ekadashi days (11th day of each lunar fortnight) are especially auspicious but draw very large crowds.
Yes. The temple trust manages dharamshala facilities at nominal rates. Several private hotels, guest houses, and community dharamshalas are also available in Khatu town within walking distance of the temple. For festival periods, it is essential to book accommodation weeks in advance as all accommodation fills up completely.
Photography and video recording inside the main sanctum (garbhagriha) is strictly prohibited. You may take photographs in the outer courtyard and premises. Please respect this rule as it is in place to maintain the sanctity and peaceful atmosphere of the inner shrine.
The Phalguna Mela is held during the Hindu month of Phalgun, typically in February–March (Ekadashi, Dwadashi, and Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha). It is one of India's largest religious fairs with over 10 lakh pilgrims attending over three days. Book accommodation at least 4–6 weeks in advance, plan to arrive very early, and be prepared for large crowds throughout.
